Master of Arts in English, General English Emphasis  

This emphasis allows you to shape a program to your own goals, whether you take classes in-person or online.

It offers a solid overview of advanced literary study as well as courses in rhetoric, linguistics, English education, second-language teaching, creative writing, and professional and technical writing.  Students in the program come to enhance their options in the job market, and they enjoy intellectual exchanges among peers.

Certificates

You can focus your elective coursework in a particular area in order to combine the master's degree with one of the English Department's certificate programs, such as the Professional Writing Certificate or the TESL Certificate.
