How to apply: MA in English with a Literature Emphasis  

Application materials required

To be considered for admission, you must submit the following materials on the Graduate College application website:

• graduate admissions application
• official transcripts
• TOEFL score (international students)
• statement of purpose
• sample academic paper
• three letters of recommendation (at least two from academic references)

To be considered for a Graduate Teaching Assistantship, you must also complete the Graduate Assistantship application form and upload it to the Graduate College application website . (Selection begins in early February: for first-round consideration of your GA application, submit all materials by February 1.) In your application please include:

• Graduate Assistantship application form 
• statement for Graduate Teaching Assistantship
• copies of transcripts 
• two letters of recommendation reflecting your teaching and work experience

Applications for program admission are reviewed year round.  However, classes can fill quickly, so be sure to apply well in advance of the semester you plan to begin attending.
