Jeff Ferris (1936) Volunteer of the Year award

 

Mr. Jeff M. Ferris was a graduate of Northern Arizona University in 1936 and is a past president of the Alumni Association, serving in 1977. He also was one of the original artists for the lumberjack image included in logos previously used by NAU Athletics. While in school, Jeff participated in AZ Playmakers, Pi Kappa Epsilon, and was a PINE editor. Jeff spent his career working for the State of Arizona Tax Commission. He received the coveted Gold Axe Award in 1932 and the Alumni Service Award in 1979. Jeff passed away in 1999.

The Jeff Ferris Volunteer of the Year award is presented to an alumna or alumnus who has demonstrated sustained interest and loyalty to the NAU Alumni Association and/or the University as a whole. Individuals who have shown initiative in serving NAU receive extra consideration. Preference is given to those who have earned a degree from NAU.
