Giving out-of-state students a price
you know that certain out-of-state students are eligible to receive a reduced
tuition rate at Northern Arizona University?
the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Program, students who meet the
university’s admission criteria and live in one of 14 Western states can
receive a tuition rate of 1.5 times the cost of in-state tuition—significantly
less than out-of-state tuition. This is a reciprocal arrangement between WUE states designed to allow students access to programs that may not be available in their states.

Western Undergraduate Exchange
1Tuition and mandatory fees are established by the Arizona Board of Regents. The fall 2016 rates were approved April 8, 2016.
All students are evaluated for eligibility during the admissions process—a separate application is not needed. Eligible students will receive the WUE tuition rate upon admission and subsequent submission of required Prop 300/Citizenship verification documentation. Check your LOUIE Student Center for the documentation due date. The WUE tuition rate applies only to fall and spring semesters.

We know financial predictability is important—that’s why Our Pledge to You is a four-year fixed tuition rate.
Application deadlines for admission are:
- Fall: July 1
- Spring: December 1
WUE rates apply to all of our majors except:
Beginning summer 2015, students interested in nursing or dental hygiene are now eligible for our reduced WUE tuition rate as pre-program majors. An additional application is still required for these highly competitive programs. See nau.edu/nursing
for details. If accepted into the professional program major, out-of-state tuition will apply for the remaining terms.
