Student Veteran Orientation (Fall Semester)

Students who have served or are serving in the U.S. Military, and who will begin classes in August on the Flagstaff Mountain Campus are highly encouraged to attend our in-person Student Veteran Orientation.

The one-day “Veteran Track” is brought to you by the NAU Veteran Success Center, featuring veteran- and military-specific agenda items relevant and highly useful to jump-starting your academic success.

The in-person orientation will offer:

  • VA education benefits process and NAU requirements
  • Presentations on key campus resources by academic college representatives
  • One-on-one academic advising and class schedule review
  • An opportunity to meet our staff and fellow veteran students
  • A student veteran panel to answer any and all of your questions
  • A campus tour
  • Complementary morning refreshments, lunch and dinner.

Prior to registering for the Student Veteran in-person Orientation, you must:

  • Pay your enrollment deposit.
  • Complete the online portion of Orientation. You’ll receive a link in your personal and NAU email accounts after you pay your enrollment deposit.
  • Complete Priority Enrollment online so academic advisors can confirm your transfer credits and build a preliminary schedule for your first semester. Do this early for class availability and to initiate your GI Bill benefits. You’ll have time later to go over your class schedule and make changes if needed.
  • Send your immunization records to Campus Health Services.

NOTE: If you are older than 21 years and have earned fewer than 24 credit hours of post-high school work, call (928) 523-8387 to ensure you receive the link for Online Orientation. Once you complete the online orientation, you can register for the Student Veteran Orientation. Registering in the Student Veteran Orientation will excuse you from the Freshman Orientation
